Orient Express Travel Group (OETG) was established in Melbourne in 1983. In November 2003, the company was bought by the incumbent CEO Tom Manwaring, who with his strong vision and commitment to the company, its employees, customers and suppliers, has grown the company profitably throughout Australia. In November 2009, a new partnership was formed with a 50% shareholding being purchased by CTG Investments.
In February 2015, the Company changed its name to Express Travel Group (ETG). This was to better reflect the nature and focus of the business and its future strategic direction. At the same time, the Company relocated its head office from 353 Exhibition Street, Melbourne to Level 2,160 Queen Street, Melbourne.
With offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, the Company has developed into one of the most respected travel groups in the country, representing the largest group of independent travel agencies in Australia. These agencies are members of the Company's agency groups, the Select Travel Group and the Independent Travel Group. ETG remains the largest provider of Asia destination passengers from Australia, and is one of the main revenue agents for Cathay Pacific Airways, Singapore Airlines, China Southern Airlines, THAI Airways and Malaysia Airlines.
The vision for the future is for the Company to become one of Australia’s leading independent integrated travel agreggators across consolidation, retail and wholesale. It is to be a business of reference and one which offers profitable, sustained employment for staff and service excellence to all customers.
As a single entity, ETG is the largest provider of regional traffic to South East Asia and North Asia and is one of the largest independent travel organisations in Australia.
